ALL that is Happening in Fundraising...and It Is A LOT!

We are just so overwhelmed in a good way by all of the fundraisers that people have done, are doing, or are going to do for our family.  It is amazing.  Most of them are being publicized on Facebook and some are being done solely on Facebook.  Social media has been so beneficial to my family and spreading our story.  We are just amazed.

I wanted to get all of fundraisers that are currently going on or happening soon in one spot so you don't miss a thing!

Happening right now are two online parties:

A sweet friend of ours from a church we attended in Plymouth is a Jamberry consultant.  She is doing an online Jamberry party on Facebook.  You can join the party HERE and place orders that will be shipped anywhere.

Kev's cousin is Thirty-One consultant and is also doing an online party for us.  You can join her party HERE and place orders that will ship anywhere.

This weekend the online auction will be held.  I visited my awesome friend who is putting this one together to see what she has for the auction.  You guys are amazing!  The things she has are beautiful and incredible.  There are so many handmade items, IU sporting event tickets, yummy baked good, childcare vouchers, and so on!  You won't want to miss this auction.  If you aren't on Facebook, you probably need to join so you can be a part of the auction.  You can follow the auction, see the rules, and place bids HERE.

October 25 at our church ECC you can attend a really fun Trivia Night from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.  You can get together your own team of 8 or join a team at the event to compete in 8-10 rounds of trivia questions.  Childcare will be available (donations accepted).  Tickets can be purchased in advance after services at ECC or at the door.  Cost is $15/person or $100 for a table of 8.  You can find out more info HERE.

On October 30 at 4 p.m. there will be a really great concert held on the campus of IU in the courtyard of the Informatics buildings.  Afro Hoosier International will be playing.  There will be someone on hand to pass out fliers about our story and computers set up (Informatics people are high tech) to do online donations to our GoFundMe site.

If you live near Newport, KY which is right beside Cincinnati, OH, you can go to Buffalo Wild Wings on November 10 from 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. to eat.  You can watch football too!  All day long Buffalo Wild Wings will donate 10% of all sales to the medical fund.  In the evening another cousin of Kev's who has put this fundraiser together will be raffling off some amazing baskets.  You need a ticket to present with your order and you can find out how to get one HERE.

Thursday, November 13 a super thoughtful family here in town is holding a house concert on their property.  Marshall Lewis and possibly another band will be performing.  The concert will be held at 7:00 p.m.  Tickets are $20 each.  This will be a really fantastic evening.  You can follow concert information HERE.

And finally a very close friend of Kev's designed a t-shirt with a friend of his.  All sales of the shirt will go to Kev's medical fund.  The shirt is really awesome!  You can click HERE to see the shirt and place orders.  Click on the style that you would like, then click on RESERVE now.  A separate box will come up with sizes and quantities.  Get a shirt and wear it to one of these awesome fundraisers or just around town.  What a great way to continue spreading our story.

If you have any questions about any of these fundraisers, please let me know.  You can leave a comment in the comment section or get ahold of me.  I'm happy to help or get you in touch with someone else.

Thank you so much everyone!!!!

The Pumpkin Patch

I took the girls this past Saturday to a local pumpkin patch.  It was the first "dry" day after many rainy days.  It kind of feels like we might float away with all of the rain we have been having.

I love these girls and hanging out with them, making memories!

Second Soccer Season

She may have blue lips from cotton candy but this girl finished her second soccer season!
We are so proud of her for taking on soccer again.
She did a great job this year!

A Farm Day Field Trip

Last week I had the very special privilege of going with Pumpkin and her class on a field trip to a local family farm.  The farm is opened for 2 days a year with many exhibits and animals so kids can see how important farms are to our daily lives.  We had so much fun together!

I love this little girl and am so glad I was able to spend the day with her
on her first kindergarten field trip!

First, thank you for your amazing support! You all have surrounded this family with love and have helped us in ways we never expected.
We understand that my particular problem is very complicated, but we thought this summary would help explain our insurance situation in a succinct manner.
* I was automatically placed on Medicare in May after being on dialysis for more than 3 months, without warning or signing a document, due to new Federal health care laws.
* Medicare only covers 80% of the transplant costs.
* I am prohibited from signing up for a private insurance plan, by law, because I'm eligible for Medicare.
* A Medicare Advantage Plan would provide 100% coverage, but I'm not eligible since I have ESRD (End Stage Renal Disease).
* A Medicare Special Needs Program is offered by Medicaid and Medicare for ESRD patients to provide the remaining 20%, but I must be eligible for Medicaid.
* Medicaid would cover the other 20% and is my only insurance option.
* Indiana Medicaid for patients with ESRD can not have have more than $2,250 in resources (for married couples). Therefore I am not eligible for Medicaid because I have too many resources.
* My only option at this point is to raise the 20% of the transplant costs (pre and post surgery, as well as anti-rejection medications), which is estimated to be $60,000.

Just 6 days after her other tooth fell out, she lost the second top front tooth!  She looks SO cute and her speech is adorable.

Lotus Festival

I just love this community.  There IS SO MUCH going on here and to do.  Two weekends ago the Lotus Festival took place.  It is an international music festival that happens over Labor Day weekend.  On Saturday during the day they have a free family day in the park.  There are tons of arts for the kids to do and lots of excellent music happening.  We had a great time exploring the event together.

She looks like a townie!  She has the head wrap and is baby wearing.  ;)

On September 15 after MUCH anticipation Peanut lost her first top front tooth.  Those front teeth had been wiggly FOREVER.  We weren't sure they would ever fall out.  The big event happened on school picture day, the day after I got back from my weekend away, which I totally spaced until 20 minutes before the girls had to leave for school!  Oops!  Thankfully her tooth waited until after pictures happened.  She looked so cute with one tooth.  Daddy called her snaggletooth.

A Weekend Away

A few weekends ago I was whisked out of town by these women to celebrate a couple of birthdays and see two of us who have moved away.  IT WAS BLISS!  We met up in Dayton and were together two nights and three days.  We laughed ALOT, cried, prayed, talked, and were just together.
We went to Ikea (my first time), an outlet mall, and ate at P.F. Chang's.  It was glorious!
The gal in the above pic in the middle in the jean jacket had the great idea of doing something creative together too.  She enlisted me to help her and we came up with making celebration plates.  It was so good to be creative and with friends.  I miss being creative.  I need to make time for that love of mine.
Our plates turned out so great!  We will use these with our families on birthdays or special days.
I am so grateful that I had the chance to go away with these women.  They are amazing friends to me.  I love how God brought us together and gave us the gift of friendship with each other.
