The Life Cycle of a Tree

Last week the girls and I headed off to Paynetown SRA at Lake Monroe to go on a guided hike with a naturalist.  We learned all about the life cycle of a tree:  seed, sprout, sapling, mature, snag.  It was a beautiful morning and a relaxing way to start our day.
Halfway through we stopped at an amphitheater where our guide read The Giving Tree and did an activity with the kids to help them remember the life cycle of a tree.  They also got to use a cedar cookie to make a cool necklace.

We truly live in a beautiful area!  I don't want to take that for granted!
