So, I have to be honest.  The girls wanted to be Elsa and Anna this year from Frozen.  I knew that every little girl across the U.S. would also be this dynamic sister pair.  So….I may have redirected their thinking and they went with it.  I'm so glad because this Thing 1 and Thing 2 were so stinking cute!

We hit up a Trunk or Treat a week before Halloween with Cora's teacher from last year and her family.  Her daughter and Pumpkin are in Kindergarten together and they are just a great family!

I even had to get in on the phone at preschool.  I went as a black cat and my teaching side kick was a doctor!
The Wednesday before Halloween we met up with some of our small group families and went trick or treating at IU.

We had a great trick or treating season indeed!

On Halloween we had some very dear friends from Alaska here to visit.  Which made for a really fun evening since we haven't seen them for 2 1/2 years.  It was so good to catch up and be with them.

It was so cold that night.  We had rain, snow, sleet, and even hail all in one day.  The kids went out for maybe 20 minutes and had enough of the cold weather!

Trivia Night Fundraiser

Our church had a fabulous fundraiser for Kev a few weeks ago.
It was a trivia night which neither Kev or I had ever done before.
The team that put this on did a STELLAR job.
There was a sheriff and a jail so you could get rid of people who were excelling a little bit too much.
Our pastor and his beautiful wife even spent some time in the slammer.
There was a great turn-out for the event.
The questions were tough to say the very least.
I'd rather not say which team we were on.
We weren't there to show off our high level of trivia knowledge.
We didn't want to blow the others out of the water.
I will say our pastor was on our team and he has a degree from Yale and Princeton!  ;)

Ice Skating

The girls got to go ice skating for the first time ever for one of their friend's birthday.
They caught on quick and really loved it.

Pumpkin ended up with a small owie on her cheek from a fall on the ice.  That was the only casualty!

Enjoying Fall

We took the girls to Brown County a few Saturdays ago to check out the gorgeous fall colors.
We had so much fun just having a family day.
We even ate supper together at one of my favorite cafes in Nashville.

The picture below reminds me of this passage of scripture:

"Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them.
And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are?
Can all your worries add a single moment to your life?
And why worry about your clothing?
Look at the lilies of the field and how they grow.
They don’t work or make their clothing, yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are.
And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you.
Why do you have so little faith?
So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’
These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs.
Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.
So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries.
Today’s trouble is enough for today."
Matthew 6:26-34

IU Homecoming Parade

We attended the IU Homecoming Parade a few weeks ago with some friends from church.  The kiddos had a lot of fun watching the crazy college students cheer on the Hoosiers.  This parade is perfect!  It's quick and full of just fun stuff.  It was a beautiful fall evening to be out and about too.  This town is just gorgeous in the fall.  It's magical in a way.  I love that the girls love doing these types of things and checking out the fun stuff going on around town.

Second Grade Field Trip

I was able to go with this amazing gal on her second grade field trip to the IU Art Museum.
We had so much fun learning about the exhibits and just being together.
I am so proud of the young lady she is becoming.
She loves her friends well and is just so kind!
She is pretty special!

Last month also brought one of Kev's cousins to town to visit.  These two hadn't seen each other since they were young and now they are all grown up with kiddos of their own.  It was really cool to watch them reconnect and catch up.  The girls loved getting to know one of their relatives and being doted on by him!

Balloons Sent to Heaven

I am a tad bit behind on blogging.  I want to get caught up because we have some really good news!  Kev's transplant is going to be on November 14!!!!
We are in shock but are so excited.

So, on to catching up.

Last month on Mimi's birthday, the girls sent balloons up to Heaven for her.  They are sure those balloons reach her and I love that.  About 10 minutes after we sent them up, Cora asked, "Do you think she has them yet?"

Happy Birthday, Mimi!
We love you so much and miss you!

ALL that is Happening in Fundraising...and It Is A LOT!

We are just so overwhelmed in a good way by all of the fundraisers that people have done, are doing, or are going to do for our family.  It is amazing.  Most of them are being publicized on Facebook and some are being done solely on Facebook.  Social media has been so beneficial to my family and spreading our story.  We are just amazed.

I wanted to get all of fundraisers that are currently going on or happening soon in one spot so you don't miss a thing!

Happening right now are two online parties:

A sweet friend of ours from a church we attended in Plymouth is a Jamberry consultant.  She is doing an online Jamberry party on Facebook.  You can join the party HERE and place orders that will be shipped anywhere.

Kev's cousin is Thirty-One consultant and is also doing an online party for us.  You can join her party HERE and place orders that will ship anywhere.

This weekend the online auction will be held.  I visited my awesome friend who is putting this one together to see what she has for the auction.  You guys are amazing!  The things she has are beautiful and incredible.  There are so many handmade items, IU sporting event tickets, yummy baked good, childcare vouchers, and so on!  You won't want to miss this auction.  If you aren't on Facebook, you probably need to join so you can be a part of the auction.  You can follow the auction, see the rules, and place bids HERE.

October 25 at our church ECC you can attend a really fun Trivia Night from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.  You can get together your own team of 8 or join a team at the event to compete in 8-10 rounds of trivia questions.  Childcare will be available (donations accepted).  Tickets can be purchased in advance after services at ECC or at the door.  Cost is $15/person or $100 for a table of 8.  You can find out more info HERE.

On October 30 at 4 p.m. there will be a really great concert held on the campus of IU in the courtyard of the Informatics buildings.  Afro Hoosier International will be playing.  There will be someone on hand to pass out fliers about our story and computers set up (Informatics people are high tech) to do online donations to our GoFundMe site.

If you live near Newport, KY which is right beside Cincinnati, OH, you can go to Buffalo Wild Wings on November 10 from 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. to eat.  You can watch football too!  All day long Buffalo Wild Wings will donate 10% of all sales to the medical fund.  In the evening another cousin of Kev's who has put this fundraiser together will be raffling off some amazing baskets.  You need a ticket to present with your order and you can find out how to get one HERE.

Thursday, November 13 a super thoughtful family here in town is holding a house concert on their property.  Marshall Lewis and possibly another band will be performing.  The concert will be held at 7:00 p.m.  Tickets are $20 each.  This will be a really fantastic evening.  You can follow concert information HERE.

And finally a very close friend of Kev's designed a t-shirt with a friend of his.  All sales of the shirt will go to Kev's medical fund.  The shirt is really awesome!  You can click HERE to see the shirt and place orders.  Click on the style that you would like, then click on RESERVE now.  A separate box will come up with sizes and quantities.  Get a shirt and wear it to one of these awesome fundraisers or just around town.  What a great way to continue spreading our story.

If you have any questions about any of these fundraisers, please let me know.  You can leave a comment in the comment section or get ahold of me.  I'm happy to help or get you in touch with someone else.

Thank you so much everyone!!!!

The Pumpkin Patch

I took the girls this past Saturday to a local pumpkin patch.  It was the first "dry" day after many rainy days.  It kind of feels like we might float away with all of the rain we have been having.

I love these girls and hanging out with them, making memories!
