A Day at the Lake

Today we took off for Michigan, Lake Michigan to be exact.  We hit up a children's museum before taking on the beach.  The girls rode on a BEAUTIFUL carousel.  Pumpkin had to have an adult with her because she didn't quite make the height requirements so she chose Papa to go with her.  They picked out some masks from a dress-up table to wear.  Check out who wore Pumpkin's mask: Curious Kid's Discovery Center Curious Kid's Discovery Center
Next we hit up the exhibits. We had a fabulous time playing at the giant peg wall. When I say we, I mean ALL of us!

There was this really cool room called Recollections. It was a wall size giant art/science dance movement exhibit. The girls could dance, wave, move any way they wanted to and watch the bright colorful patterns mimic their motions on the screen. We spent a ton of time in this room. Next it was off to the beach for a picnic and swimming. We spent over 3 hours at the beach. The weather was perfect. The water was on the chillier side but we sacrificed for the sake of fun. IMG_3063
Our spot was perfect! It was shallow quite a ways out and there were hardly any waves. The water was also so clear, you could see the bottom of the lake.

We had a fabulous day together! It's so fun playing tourist to the area I grew up near!
