Birthday DAY!

Birthday Girl
Peanut's birthday fell on a Sunday this year so we spent the morning together at church.  She received so many well wishes from our friends.  She felt really loved.

After church we headed to the mall so she could....GET HER EARS PIERCED.  She could hardly contain herself all morning.  It was really fun to see her so excited about this.  She has been asking for months if she could get her ears pierced.  We had told her she needed to wait for her birthday so she was so anxious to finally get it done. I love this picture. She had a death grip on my hand and kept looking at me with those little eyes, "Is this going to hurt? Don't leave me!" She was so brave!!! You can notice I have a grip on her too because I knew it would hurt but fast and be over and done with!

The second ear was harder because she knew what to expect but she didn't freak out at all. She continued to grip my hand and did fine while tensing every muscle in her body. Ha!

She looks like she has always had them! They are perfect. She picked ruby red studs since that is her birthstone.

We ate lunch together at TGI Friday's after the piercing event!  She had a wonderful birthday, I do believe! We all had fun celebrating and being together!

More Celebrating...

We partied all weekend for Peanut's birthday.  She invited a special buddy from church to come home with us and spend the night.  They had a lot of fun playing, especially building the new Lego sets Peanut got.

We went to our local library to see a movie on Friday afternoon then hit up a local ice cream shop for some treats. By the time bedtime rolled around, they were very sleepy girls. Birthday Girl
Gigi came to spend Saturday with us. We took him to the Farmer's Market. The girls got to get up close to some really beautiful work horses. Birthday Girl
We had to buy corn, basil, tomatoes, and peaches. The market was brimming with yummy things. Birthday Girl
For lunch Peanut picked to make homemade pizza. Each girl got to make their own little pizza. They had fun "decorating" their pizzas and making them perfect.

We opened presents next. Peanut hit the jack-pot, for sure. She got some gift cards which she was really excited about. She also received the Lego Friends Pool which she was really hoping for.Birthday Girl
She also had a really special note in her birthday card from Daddy and I. She found out that she was going to be able to get her ears pierced! This thrilled her.

Gigi and the girls made the best homemade ice cream together. That is one of our fave summer treats! Birthday Girl
Peanut wanted a swimming theme for her birthday so she got a little swimmer girl cake for her 7th birthday. This was so easy to make. I almost felt like she got a bit gipped. Ha! She loved it so that is certainly what matters.

We had a great day celebrating with Gigi. We are so thankful he could come down and celebrate with us.

Surprise!

Peanut's birthday is this Sunday.  We starting celebrating today!  We threw her a surprise birthday party at our splash pad.  She had no idea what we were doing.  Yesterday she asked me, "Hey Mom, can we go to the splash pad soon?"  I was like, "Well, how about tomorrow morning?"  That made it really easy to get her there without suspecting anything!

I got up early and went to decorate before she was even awake.  Then picked up the fam to head back. Her buddies were all hidden in the bushes and jumped out, yelling, "SURPRISE!" to her.  She was really surprised.

Peanut wanted a swimming party (the splash pad was easier with a big group) so her cupcakes are teddy bears in gummy lifesaver tubes floating in blue water frosting.

Getting Big

She has a birthday coming this weekend.  This past week she has tackled some new things.  She figured out how to blow bubbles so she always has a wad of gum in her mouth, blowing away.

She also asked for the training wheels to come off of her bike. It hasn't been mastered yet, but she is not afraid and is eager to figure it out.

Family Reunion

After the walk/run, we headed to one of the aunts' homes to have the annual family reunion.  It was a great afternoon of catching up and celebrating family.

Sisters...

We are always missing one family member for the family picture. One of our nieces is down south preparing to start college so we are down one yet again. IMG_3345
We spent another night in a motel so we could hang out with Kev's siblings and their families. We love having these times together especially since they come far and few between. We had some sleepy little girls on the way home the next day. One of them hid under her "B" and snoozed. IMG_3353
