Pumpkin's 4!

On Saturday Pumpkin turned 4 years old.  I can't believe it.  Four seems so big.  She was only 6 months old when we moved here and now she's like a kid.  She is an amazing kid though.  She is so full of determination and spunk.  She has a lot of ambition and is a go-getter.  I have no idea what the future holds for this little girl with a silly spirit and stubborn streak, but it's going to be good!

She told me months ago that she wanted a Candy Land birthday.  She has a wicked sweet tooth so this suits her perfectly.  It was fun and pretty easy to put it all together.  I even tried my hand at making and using fondant for her cake.

She woke up at 7:30 announcing that it was her birthday and asking, "When are my guestesses going to be here?" She had requested chocolate chip pancakes for her birthday breakfast so that was our first order of business.
She discovered her cake in the refrigerator and loved it. She couldn't stop looking at it.

We worked on getting all of the decorations up before the "guestesses" came. We made a Candy Land board walk with construction paper and candy decor with colored plates and cellophane. IMG_1820IMG_1903
For the table we made a little Candy Land board walk with post-it notes.  I used our Candy Land game board as a centerpiece and the Candy Land game pieces.  Pumpkin wanted pizza for her party because she loves when the pizza man comes!  We also had veggies and dip, chips, and strawberries.  The cake also helped decorate the table.
Our "guestesses" included Dobbie, Papa, Gigi, and two of Pumpkin's sweet little friends. IMG_1834 IMG_1828 IMG_1829
We ate, the girls played, then Pumpkin opened presents. I am pretty sure it only took her 15 minutes to open everything. It was a flurry of tissue paper and gift wrap with extra help from her buddies. IMG_1087
Her favorite gift was Flynn Rider or Eugene from Tangled. Pumpkin has a Rapunzel doll that is made of out of all fabric. She calls it her fuzzy Frupunzel. She asked me a couple of months ago if she could have a fuzzy Flynn Rider. I thought that was cute but was sure they didn't make them, but they do! Her reaction to finding him in the box was priceless. He hasn't left her side since she got him. He even got to go for a stroller ride yesterday while Frupunzel had to stay home.
She got a lot of new Barbies because she really is into playing Barbies. They just happened to be mermaid Barbies too. She is into mermaids also so it was perfect. Dobbie found her the cutest mermaid dress-up outfit that she adored!
The end of the party was the cake. Pumpkin did great at blowing out her candles! That sweet smile didn't leave her face for the entire party. All of the work and preparation are so worth it when you see your baby so full of joy!
Happy Birthday Pumpkin! We love you to the moon and back a million times!
