Saying Good-bye

As you recall, there were two reasons for our quick trip north.  This post is about that second reason...saying good bye to some really close friends.

We knew that we wanted to spend at least an evening with them before their big move west and were thankful when we found out that they did have not just an evening but most of one day for just that.

So this past Sunday we met them for lunch at a really tasty Mexican restaurant.  After that it was off to their house to help them a little with their packing.  We wish we could have done more for them in that area but they were so happy with getting this one project done.

For supper the guys got pizza, watched the kiddos and played strategy games.
Day with Friends
My best friend and I headed to a really incredible restaurant for supper and then to a movie. It was good to have some down time together and just be able to talk.

After the movie we all headed to a local frozen yogurt place to squeeze in some more memories.

(Aren't those two just precious?)

Then after a few more games it was time to say good-bye.  I hate good-byes.  I know that we will see them again but now it isn't just a days drive.  It is far.  Peanut put it well when I was explaining to her how far they were moving.  She said, "But Mom, we can still call them and we can Skype!"  Thank goodness for technology!

Here are two of my favorite good-bye pictures from our good-bye hug fest.

I remember when this little man came to see Peanut after she was born. He loved her. Every time we were with them, he would hold her and beam. They are buddies and play supremely well together. On this last evening together he gave her the special honor of teaching her how to be a junior secret agent. He taught her the ins and outs of the rigorous training which including learning how to sneak. He also gave the stamp approval for Pumpkin becoming a future secret agent. I wish we had taped their conversations that we overheard during the "training". It was awesome! Saying Goodbye
This one absolutely melts my heart! Her little arms wrap around necks perfectly and tightly especially when that neck belongs to someone very special.

We love this family so much. We are so thankful how things have begun to fall into place for this big move. There are many things that still need to fall into place and soon. They have so much on their plate right now but they are in it together. They have been through so much to get to this point and God has seen them through some rough times. I know He will get them through this too. Please keep them in prayer as they are currently in the process of driving to their new home which will take several days. Once they are there her life as a resident will begin with a month of orientation, then full time residency on July 1st. I have no idea how hard this next phase will be for her or for her family. I can not begin to fathom it. I do know that I promise to pray for them and do my best to encourage them. We love you guys...SO MUCH!

Day with Friends “Even though we've changed and we're all finding our own place in the world, we all know that when the tears fall or the smile spreads across our face, we'll come to each other because no matter where this crazy world takes us, nothing will ever change so much to the point where we're not all still friends.”
