Gigi Came for THREE Days

On Monday afternoon I was driving home from a birthday party for one of Peanut's Kindergarten buddies and noticed that Gigi had tried to call a couple of times.  I called him back and he asked, "What are you doing for supper?"  He was jumping in his van and coming to see us and spending the night!  WooHoo!  We were all very excited.  We love surprises quite a bit.

After he got to our place we had a yummy meal at Cracker Barrel where the girls could hardly contain their excitement that Gigi was with us.  Gigi got to help us take Peanut to Kindergarten the next day which made her day!  He also was the one waiting at the pick-up line for her.  How fun!

Since I had my dad and my girls in MY van, I decided to kidnap them all and go on an adventure.  We headed to that awesome local state park again, stopping by McDonald's to get lunch so we could have a picnic.  Now wouldn't you call this a nice picnic view?

We spent 4 hours cruising the park and checking out the gorgeous views and fall colors. It was simply a wonderful afternoon. Gigi kept saying, "This is so nice!"

The girls and I took a hike around a small lake. They did super and really enjoyed the walk. It's hard not to when you are surrounded by the beauty of a place like that.

We spent some time on a playground so the girls could play. They do not quite understand when we say we are going to a park and it is not a playground park, so we always have to find a playground in the big park to enjoy. To them a park is a playground. We stopped in a quaint local village for some delicious ice cream. I had apple butter ice cream and already scheming how I can get back over there for more. YUMMY!

We took a different route home even driving down into a ravine to a very old covered bridge. I wish I had taken a picture because it was pretty cool but we were all pretty worn out by that point. We are blessed to live in a gorgeous area!
Day with Gigi
Gigi stayed the next day to watch the girls while Daddy and I had to go to a doctor's appointment. (More on that later.) He had bought a dozen donuts that morning for the girls. Daddy and I each had one before we left and by the time we got home there was only 1 donut left! That's what Gigi's are for! :)

This picture says it all...how much this little one loves her Gigi. She was broken hearted when it was time for him to leave and even cried a little. Every morning she asks where he is. We love our Gigi and our Dobbie and Papa! We sure wish we could see them much more often but are so grateful for the times we are together.
Goodbye Hugs
I am thankful Gigi was here during a week that was flooded with memories of Mimi. We needed to be together, so thank you Gigi for coming!
