Our 4th of July

We had a wonderful 4th of July this year. We were able to be up north for the week with family. We spent the 4th with Gigi and had a relaxing morning together. After lunch we headed off to a small town parade. The girls did super considering it was hot and loud. I think the candy being thrown at them helped.

After the parade we had a wonderful bbq at a sweet friend's home. Amazing food, great fellowship and Gigi's homemade ice cream...What a great afternoon!

The ice cream passed the granddaughter's approval, don't you think?

Later in the evening we took the girls to a local fireworks show. We had no idea what to expect. Last year Peanut was scared to death and spent the show in the van with Daddy while Pumpkin slept on my shoulder. As the fireworks started we ooohed and ahhed and made a big deal about how pretty they were. The girls LOVED it. They had so much fun picking out their favorites. Pumpkin kept saying, "Pretty!"

It was a grand day and we successfully wore the girls out!
