A Weekend with Friends

This past weekend some really good friends came to stay with us for a couple of days. It was such a sweet time of talking, watching our kids play together, and just being. We were all worn out from a busy week so it was good to just relax a bit together too.
Friends Visit
The kids had a ball together. On Friday evening after filling up on INDIAN food (excellent choice), we headed to the playground.
Friends Visit
WHOOSH! Pumpkin LOVES these spinny apparatuses at the playgrounds. She giggles and giggles.
Friends Visit
After the sweeties were all tucked into bed, we talked over tea, watched the season premiere of The Office and caught our friends up on the shenanigans of Joaquin Phoenix.
Friends Visit
On Saturday morning after delving into a plate of warm Cinnamon Oat pancakes we hit the town, family style. We took our friends to the Farmer's Market. This was also Daddy's first time EVER to go with us. The kids shared kettle corn. We oohed and ahhed over the tempting produce and talent. The weather was also finally perfect after a week full of HOT temperatures.
Friends Visit
Us mamas took the kids (minus Pumpkin) to a preview of the "If You Give a Mouse a Cookie" production that is coming to town. It was awesome! I desperately want to take Peanut to the full production. She got such a kick out of the preview.
Friends Visit
The Daddies got coffee and walked around campus for a while with Pumpkin in her stroller. This is what she looked like when we met back up at the library. I think she was worn out a bit.
Friends Visit
We headed to our favorite Mexican restaurant downtown for lunch and hit some fun shops after. It was such a fun time. I think my favorite thing is seeing our kids together. We've been friends since before we had kids, walked the paths of pregnancy together, and now to see these kids become friends is such an awesome thing. Peanut talks about these little friends often.
Friends Visit
They will be heading back overseas to continue their mission work after the holidays. We are hoping to be able to get another visit in before they leave as it will be two years before we see them again. Peanut will be 6 and Pumpkin 3! Wow!
