The Honey Farm

Honey Farm
This morning the girls and I headed to a local honey farm with the Meet-Up group that I joined after we first moved. This was actually my first outing with the group. We had a wonderful time and really enjoyed the other mommies and children. The kids learned how bees make honey. They got to see and touch some really neat things. Peanut had a great time especially making some new friends.

She was really excited about bottling her own bottle of honey to bring home for Daddy. He must be part bear because he LOVES honey.
Honey Farm Honey Farm
We ended our trip with a picnic lunch outside. It was a beautiful fall day to do so, a bit windy, but beautiful.
Honey Farm Honey Farm
I realized something today, I miss the rural roads of home. Wow..the ones down here are twisty, curvy, and hilly. Don't get me wrong, they are beautiful, but boy does all that twisting and turning play with my typically directional accuracy. I was so afraid I would end up incredibly lost out there in the sticks, but we made it!

I wanted to share some stories with you about the girls before I close. A few weeks ago I was busy cleaning bathrooms and left Peanut in her room with Pumpkin for just a minute. When I came back, Pumpkin was gone! It freaked me out because she was nowhere to be seen. After Mommy settled down, Peanut said, "She's under her bed." There was my ornery little one, grinning at me ear to ear, under her crib, hiding from Mommy! I took some pics of the girls playing under the crib. It is their secret hide-out.
Hiding Under the Crib! Hiding Under the Crib!
Now this next story is not for the faint of stomach. Skip ahead is bathroom talk or blood makes you squeamish. After we got home from the Honey Farm I put Peanut to bed and put Pumpkin in her exersaucer for a bit as she had napped in the car. She started to get fussy so I picked her up only to discover a sensation on my hand. Let me fill you in on another tidbit, Pumpkin has been shall we say, a bit stopped up since starting baby food, so I have been giving her baby food prunes for supper for about a week. I was worried because it just didn't seem to be helping her. No need for concern, the prunes worked! As I peaked around her backside, I saw it all up and down her and all over my hand! GROSS! So, I run to the kitchen and grab the paper towels under my arm and some wet wipes. I use my knee and non-pooped on hand to get a bed of towels for her to lay on while trying to balance her with the pooped on hand. Then I lay her down, only to notice something in her ear. I flick that out with the clean hand and start to work on the mess. Then I look up at her and see blood gushing out of her ear all over our RENTED carpet. I guess that little something was a scab. WHOOPS! So I clean that up and try to get the bleeding to stop while holding her cute little hiney up in the air. Oh, it was quite a sight and there was blood and poop everywhere! But we made it and she is clean! Parenthood, isn't it a lovely thing!

I Could Eat Them Up!

(Warning...Picture Heavy Ahead!)

Just see for yourself why I could just eat these girls up...
I Could Eat Her Up! I Could Eat Her Up! I Could Eat Her Up!

I Could Eat Her Up! I Could Eat Her Up! I Could Eat Her Up!
And we just couldn't resist...
She'll Love This One
Pumpkin loves to look at her reflection in the overflow drain while taking a bath. She likes to keep track of the baby in the bathtub with her.
Who is that Baby?
Here is Peanut's absolute favorite thing to with her doll house. Her dolls even have a plasma TV when Daddy is home (that is his iPod if you can't tell). The dolls like to watch Caillou on their special TV.

Daddy loves to read to his girls.

And Peanut likes to lick the cookie dough off the beater!
I love these little girls!

Gigi's Visit Gigi's Visit
Last Saturday Gigi and his special friend came down to see us. It was the first opportunity that Gigi has been able to head down this way as we have been up north quite a bit. The weather was just gorgeous when they were here. We were all so thankful as it had been very rainy and cold the week before. Peanut was so excited to have them here. She immediately had them in her room playing with her doll house.
Gigi's Visit Gigi's Visit
Gigi was anxious to see our new community so the girls and I took them on a tour of town while Daddy was at work. The community got a raving approval from them. We decided since it was such a pretty town to head to a nearby little town that is full of little shops. It was a wonderful afternoon. We loaded the girls up on ice cream and Peanut got a little stash of taffy.
Gigi's Visit Gigi's Visit
After we got home Daddy fixed Gigi's friend's computer and we had yummy super together. It was a very late night for Gigi and his friend as they weren't able to leave until close to midnight due to the computer repairs. We were so thankful for the fun day together. Oh, how we all love fall!
Gigi's Visit
The girls and I have tried to get out and enjoy the parks as much as we can while the weather is still nice and the trees are gorgeous.

It is just beautiful to see the leaves so radiant.

She is Standing Tall

Pumkin's favorite thing to do now that she has crawling under her belt is to stand. She crawls right up to anything that she can hold on to and pulls herself right up into a standing position and just grins! Have I mentioned on here how ornery she is? ;) We have even seen her starting to creep while standing up. She is still only 6 months! Amazing!
Standing Up
Now there are some problems with standing up so soon. Her legs are a bit wobbly yet so after standing in one spot for awhile she gets tired but hasn't figured out how to get down, so she cries for someone to come and rescue her. If she pulls herself up in the kitchen which has vinyl (YUCK) floor and has socks on, she starts doing the splits and does NOT like this. Then there is the whole not knowing how to get down thing...she falls quite a bit. Poor baby! I think baby helmets are ridiculous, but after seeing the number of times she falls and hits her head a day...well, maybe not so ridiculous. Typically she just keeps right on going. She is so determined.
Standing Up
We are pretty sure it won't be long until we're announcing that she is walking. We'll see. She hasn't learned how to sit up unsupported yet and this I'm sure is because as soon as you put her on the floor, she immediately starts crawling!
Standing Up
She has also broke her first tooth through on the bottom front. It took alot of work and alot of tears (on her part and mine) but it's through. Now she has how many more to come through? Our neighbors are really going to love us.

Early October

The girls are asleep, the laundry is going, the dishes are in the dishwasher and the kitchen table is back to normal, so I have time to sit and blog.

Let's start back on October 9. The girls and I headed back up north to be with my dad for the year anniversary of Mom's going home. It was important to me to be there and I am so glad we were. We spent the 9th celebrating a belated birthday for Gigi. His sisters and some friends came over for the evening. We had pizza and Texas Sheet cake. It was a fun evening!
Happy Birthday
When I asked Peanut what we should get Gigi for her birthday she said, "A party hat!" So we got him a party hat that he sported right away! ;)
Happy Birthday

On the 10th we picked out flowers to make a new arrangement for Mimi's headstone and then headed to the cemetery. I am happy with how the fall arrangement turned out. I think she would really like it. We spent time talking while Peanut ran all around giggling and singing. I know Mimi was smiling!
One Year

We headed home after that. On Sunday the 4 of us headed to an itty-bitty local town to eat at a unique little restaurant that one of Daddy's co-workers had told him about. It used to be a booming little town in the 1800's and early 1900's then the Depression hit, then it's main road was closed off when a man-made reservoir was put in. This literally shut down the town. Years ago the mercantile building was purchased by a family who changed into a very unique restaurant and inn. The food was really yummy and the atmosphere was just wonderful. We will certainly be going back when we can. It was a gorgeous fall afternoon with the trees quite a sight to behold!

Going Back a Bit

What a week this has been. I have been sewing like a mad woman who waited until the last minute to make her daughter's Halloween costume. Wait! That mad woman was me. The laundry is in two piles in the laundry room, clean and not clean. The dishes are stacked in the sink in two piles, clean and not clean. Our kitchen table is covered with sewing machine, pattern pieces, fabric and sewing notions galore. will all still be there tomorrow for me to clean and put away.

I promise to have pics up soon of Peanut's Halloween costume. I had to have it done for tonight to take her to a Trick or Treat trail at a local park for which I paid $4.00 for my daughter to receive like 8 pieces of candy! It was cute though and she had a ball, so it was worth it. I'm going to keep you in suspense about what her costume is though. But wait..most of you follow me of facebook so you already know. Oh well! Maybe some of you will be in suspense.

I have had these pictures to share for a few weeks now but I just haven't had time to blog. I actually have lots of things to share with you all so hopefully over the next few days, I can blog here and there.

Dobbie and Papa swung through our neighborhood for a quick overnight visit a few weeks ago. We told Peanut that she was going to have a very special surprise. She was so excited and had a hard time waiting for her surprise to happen.

Then finally our doorbell rang and she was greeted by some extra special guests!
We were all so thrilled to see each other. It felt so strange to not have seen Dobbie and Papa in over a month. We were so used to seeing them many times each week. It was a great catch up with them. We can't wait to see them again!
Surprise! Surprise!
Surprise! Surprise!
We love them so much!
