House Guests

This week we had our friends Juston and Erin stay with us for 2 days. It had been a year since we had seen them last. They had moved to Dallas, TX last year to start their ministry with Wycliffe Bible Translators. They have been taking lots of courses in preparation for going overseas. They will be working with a people group who do not have a written language. They will be working on a written language and then translating the Bible into that language. What an incredible ministry. It's so hard to imagine not having the Bible in your own language. We take it so for granted.

Our time with Juston and Erin was such a great blessing. We had just started getting close to them when they moved to Dallas. We have stayed in touch via email throughout the year. We spent time talking, watching a movie, eating, playing with Cora....It was so fun to introduce them to her. They are expecting their first child, a boy in February. We spent alot of time warming Juston up to babies. :) They are going to be great parents. Also Juston and Kevin spent some time playing chess together. Juston loves to tease our cat. We think that Juson is Art's nemesis!

Some friends from church and I threw Erin a baby shower on Saturday. That was fun. Thankfully she was able to get all of the gifts into their extra suitcase since they are flying.

While they were at our house, we gave Cora cereal for the first time. I had wanted to wait until after our trip to South Carolina. She did pretty well but alot of it ended up on her bib. She seemed to like it. I also kept putting if off because it felt like her first gain of independence from me. I know, I know...sappy new Mom! But it was hard for me. I have to admit it was fun to watch her expressions as she ate it. She has been intently watching as others eat or drink, trying to figure out what they are doing. So it was time!

On Sunday I put Cora in a kimono sweater that Erin had knit for her. It's still a bit big on her so I had her wear it as a dress. Oh my!!!! It is so pretty and Cora looked so pretty in it. Erin is an incredibly talented knitter. No doubt that their little boy will be decked out in awesome knit sweaters, hats, and such!

I love Cora! She is adorable. Dawson and Cora should meet. Dawson could teach her a thing or two about life. Where to spit the cereal if you don't like it. How to get the poop ALL THE WAY UP your back. It takes skill. It really does.
Love you guys!
